EXPERIENCE THE HISTORIC IDITAROD SLED DOG RACING

The Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race, more commonly known as The Iditarod, is an annual sled dog race that starts in early March and lasts for about 10 days. Covering 1,049 miles from Willow to Nome, Alaska, the Iditarod commemorates the fearless mushers and dogs who braved wintry, snowy blizzard conditions to bring a life-saving diphtheria serum to Nome in 1925 in 5 ½ days during the height of a diphtheria outbreak.

Be a part of this annual commemorative race in a way that few people ever will  — by following the race through the air. Follow along as your favorite musher works together with his team of sled dogs, racing across snow and ice crossings made possible by frozen lakes and rivers.

Best of all, you can experience this uniquely Alaskan tradition while sitting comfortably in our R44 helicopter, encased in wide-angle glass windows that offer you unobstructed bird's eye views from the air. It's the next best thing to mushing along with a sled dog team yourself!
